Acanthus with it's bold, glossy striking green leaves with deeply-cut edges create a dramatic backdrop for the towering spikes adorned with striking hooded blooms.

 

When to Sow: August - May

HOW TO SOW ACANTHUS MOLLIS:
Sow into moist well-drained seed compostm 5mm deep.  Transplant seedlings with 2 true leaves to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatiseto outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Will flower in the second year. 

Alternatively Seeds can also be sowed into wet tissue papaper and placed into a zip lock bag to aid germination.

  • Use: Cut Flowers, Garden Borders, Dried
