Grown primarilary for its large edible globes. Preparing and enjoying an artichoke is like unwrapping a culinary puzzle. Start by trimming the prickly leaves, revealing the heart within. Steam or boil until tender, then roast in the oven with a little oil drizzled over. To eat, pull off the leaves one by one, dipping them in your favorite sauce. When you reach the heart, the real prize awaits - a tender, flavorful center to savor.
