Recognised as the type of brocolli you can buy in the supermarket. With large single heads,  followed by smaller tender sideshoots.  Has great flavour, vigour and the uniformity you can expect from an F1 variety.

 

When to Sow: Mar-Jul

 

HOW TO SOW CALABRESE:
Soil should be prepared in the autumn will well rotted organic matter & Lime if needed.
Sow in pots or moudules of moist well drained compost and cover with 2cm of soil . Ideal Temp 10-15°C. Grow on to around 10cm so that plants are robust enough to withstand pests & the weather before planting out 30cm appart with a top dressing of mulch.

April - Jun - Sow outdoors
Can also be direct sowed from April onwards in a prepared seed bed - 30cm appart
