A deep purple colouring with crisp round heads, ideal for picklig, cooking and raw in salads.

 

When to Sow: Mar - May

HOW TO SOW RED CABBAGE:
Prepare the planting site  couple of months before hand with plenty of organic matter.


Sow indoors  - In pots or moudules of moist well drained compost and cover with 2cm of soil . Ideal Temp 13°C. Transplant when large enough to handle and grow on until plants are robust enough to withstand  before planting out to final positions 40-45cm appart.


Sow direct - into a prepared seed bed 2cm deep. Thinning to 10cm for growing on before transplanting to fial positions 45cm appart.

 

Plant seedlings 1.5cm deeper than they were in the seed bed or pot.
