A vigarous popular variety for mid season/ Main crop harvesting. High in antioxidant beta-carotene which coverts to vitamin A in the body.Also try companion planting with Onions, leeks or mint to help deter carrotfly.

HOW TO SOW:
Soil should be prepared a few weeks before sowing with a general purpose fertilizer, do not add manure.
Sow direct - into a prepared seed bed either in drills or broadcast sowed. Cover with 1cm of compost. Sow thinkly to avoid having to thin and this will attract carrot fly.

- Care: Keep well watered until germination occurs. Then keep on the dry side as excess water will encourage leafy top growth rather than root growth. Earth up around stems if necessary to prevent greening. Can be covered with fleece for extra protection from carrotfly

- Harvest: Pick when roots reach required size. Any damaged stems should be used straight away, but those which are pristine can be stored in sand for use later. Pull every other carrot to give remaining ones more room to grow.
