A reliable trench variety  with a purple tint to the stalks which  turn pink once blanched. Excellent flavour with a slightly open habit this varity will hold up until into the new year.


When to Sow: Feb - Apr

HOW TO SOW: 
Pre prepare the ground with manure or  compost for final planting.

 

Sow indoors  - In pots or moudules of moist well drained compost and cover with a sprinkle of soil . Ideal Temp 18°C. Transplant when large enough to handle and grow on until plants are robust enough to withstand pests and harden off before planting out to final positions 30cm appart after all danger of frost has  passed.  Plant into a 30 cm deep trench which can be filled as the celery grows for blanching the stems.
