An ancient variety with a distrinctive flavour, deep red leaves and white ribs. Can be used raw or chargrilled and drizzled with oil. Leaves are green in summer turning red in cold weather.
When to Sow: May - Aug
HOW TO SOW:
Sow in pots of moist compost and cover with 1.5m of soil. Ideal temp 10-20°C. Transplant into final positions when large enough to handle.
Sow Direct - thinly into rows in a preapared seed bed 1.5cm deep. Thin to 30cm when large enough to handle, thinnings can aso be transplante or used as baby leaves.
Keep moist and succession sow every 2-3 weeks
