When to Sow : Mid Mar - Mid May

 

HOW TO SOW:
In a well prepared seed bed with stones removed and cumbly soil which has been dug over. The soil must be light and well drained.
Sow thinly  in rows one seed every few cm. When large enough to handle gradually thin to 10cm final spacing.
Parsnips can be tricky to germinate.  Delay sowing if weather is cold and wet.  Can also be pre sprouted using the wet paper towel bag method and then transplanted once germination has occured.
