With the most ornamental burgundy crinkly leaves, a great addition to the herb garden. With a strong cinnamon flavour these  leaves arepopular in Japan.

 

When to Sow: Mar - Jun

HOW TO SOW:
Pre soaking seeds in water for around 4 hours will speed up germination.


Sow in pots or trays onto damp seed compost and cover with a sprinkle of soil. Then cover to exclude light and keep in the shade. Ideal temp 22°C. Once germinated the cover can be removed so they are exposed to light. Transplant when  large enough to handle, and after the risk of frost has passed plant out 30cm appart.
