A traditional variety with large stalks packed with flavour and very reliable harvests year after year.

 

When to Sow: Oct - March

 

HOW TO SOW:
Soak seeds in water for 12 hours prior to sowing. 

Then sow into pots or cells of damp compost 2-3 cm deep. Seeds will germinate very quickly.  Grow on in a greenhouse or coldframe and plant out from Spring onwards or when at least 10cm tall using plenty well rotted organic matter.

  • Soil Type: Will grow in most soils
  • Soil Acidity: All Types
  • Moisture: Well drained
  • Care: Do not overwater as this will cause rotting.  Cover with mulch over winter.
  • Use: EdibleHarvest: Do not harvest in the first year.  From second year pull the stems rather than cutting.
