A classic summer squash  with flat green speckled fruits,  a pretty scallop and bushy habit.
Fruits will store for a long time but can not be over wintered.

 

When to Sow: Apr - Jun

 

HOW TO SOW PATTY PAN:
Prepare the ground with well rotted organic matter prior to planting out.
Sow indoors  - Individually in pots or moudules of moist well drained compost in their edge to prevent rotting, and cover with a 2cm of soil . Ideal Temp 20-25°C. Keep moist - would benefit from a propagation lid.
Grow on until substantial enough to withstand  pest attacks. Harden off before planting out  after all danger of frost has passed with 90cm spacing.

  • Use: Edible Harvest: Cut regularly  for a continuous supply leaving 5cm of stalk left on the vine.  Cure  for 5 days in the sun before storing. Fruits should last a few months. Do not wash until ready for use.
