A native wild flower with pretty blue/ purple flowers used as a compost activator to help break down other materials. Can also be used as mulch, or to make liquid manure.

 

When to Sow: Mar- Jun

 

HOW TO SOW: Sow indoors - In pots or moudules of moist well drained compost and cover with 0.5cm of soil. Ideal Temp 20°C. If germination does not occur after 4 weeks then cold stratify for a few weeks and return to warmth. Transplant to individial pots when large enough to handle to grow on.

Harden off and plant out when plants are robust enough to withstand pests 60cm appart.

 

Sow direct in Autumn - into a prepared seed bed 1cm deep, thin to 60 cm when large enough to handle.
